Growing up as an 'Army brat', Paul's childhood homes were in Boone, El Paso, Ramstein, Munich, and finally, Tuscaloosa. Paul's mother, Dorothy Montez, is a mix of Mesoamerican and Jewish descent. His father, Harry McDade, from Newark, New Jersey, had parents from Airdrie & Blantyre, Scotland. Paul has worked with author Nv-Ya Red Star & spent days learning older traditions from Speaking Wind (Pueblo) & Martín Prechtel (Tz'utujil). Also, a documentarian & supporter of the American Prospect and the Intercept
