Jeremy Lance Gosnell was born in Conway, Arkansas on September 6, 1978, to Linda Kay Gosnell (née Stacks), a customer service representative, and James Leo Gosnell, a USPS Letter Carrier. Raised primarily by his mother and maternal grandmother, Wynell Stacks (née Dollar), who served as a personal nanny for former Arkansas Governor Winthrop Rockefeller, Lance's early exposure to the world of performance came through his uncle David Stacks, known as Charles Davis, portraying Captain Dave on the "Alphabet Set."
