Hester's path to acting has been anything but ordinary. Raised by a single mother in rural Maine, she grew up fast working as pea picker from age 10 and as a diner waitress for the midnight shift. A Gen X-er who spent her runaway teens at CBGB and the Rocky Horror Picture Show, she's also been an advanced martial artist and teacher, a wilderness trip leader, non-profit founder helping at-risk youth, and an award-winning biotech executive. She got her BFA more than 30 year after first enrolling in college.
