Adept at clowning and musical theater, Futaba brings a sense of play and tenacity to new works and revivals alike, from Off-Broadway to the indie screen. A transgender, Asian actor, he was recently directed by Tina Landau in “A Transparent Musical” and starred in the film “Therapist Crush” written and directed by MJ Kaufman. Futaba is a winner of an Obie Award and a Paul Robeson Award for his work bridging art and advocacy.
