Women who are elevated, sharp, intelligent, put together, sometimes a touch off-kilter or out of step with everyone around them. Women with standards, surrounded by people and a world that don't meet them, who answer instead of accepting.

Antonia Kao came to acting via a circuitous path: documentary filmmaking, homeschooling, Authentic Movement, and Action Theater improv training. When her daughter got into acting, Antonia played her daughter’s character’s lesbian mom in an award-winning Yale thesis film. She had a blast, and kept going. A breast cancer thriver and end-of-life doula, she immerses herself fully in life’s pursuits, acting included. She's drawn to playing complicated, grounded women who don’t necessarily behave themselves.
