Shannon received dual degrees in Theatre and African American Studies from Temple University. A DC native, she has also trained in many styles of dance and physical theatre. She is a Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company Member and has received several Helen Hayes Award nominations, including one for Outstanding Lead Actress, two for Outstanding Supporting Actress, and jointly won an Outstanding Ensemble Award.
