Riji Raja was born and raised in Kuwait to Indian parents. During the Gulf War in 1990, she and her family (including her pregnant mother) fled to India for safety but not without enduring the hardships of the short-lived Iraqi invasion. In 1991, they were given a second chance to restart their life. She holds a Bachelor's in Microbiology and a Masters in Finance. She was formerly an auditor before she made the decision to pursue acting in 2016. She is an avid advocate for ending homelessness.
