Cowboys and Indians (Performance Video) Quicktime
My first Western and a terrific leading role as a card-sharking, gun-slinging, up-to-no-good baddie. The scenes I have excerpted here are from the several done at the card table over the course of my three day stay on set at the Whitehorse film ranch in Lander, CA.
-
The Carpenter: Part 1- And So They Die (Performance Video) Quicktime
A strong supporting role in a feature length horror/slasher film in which I play a literary agent coaxing his client into finishing his next book which, to everyone’s misfortune, is fast taking on a life of its own. This clip is culled from my final scene in the film where I meet my client, who has hit the skids and is living in his car, to deliver good news about his manuscript.
-
Sinnergy (Performance Video) Quicktime
A lead role in a neo-noir detective drama short. Good sequences of action and dark atmosphere. Much dialogue done in voiceover.
-
3 Days in L.A. (Performance Video) Quicktime
A lead role in an ensemble-cast dramatic feature film. I play a college professor whose selfishness and vanity are ruining his family life. He’s drifting away from his wife and son and in way over his head in an affair with a pretty young co-ed who sends him straight onto the rocks with an infidelity of her own. “3 Days in L.A.” was an Official Selection at the 2010 Milan International Film Festival where it garnered three award nominations including Best Director for Marco Capalbo.
-
"The Ride Along" (Performance Video) Quicktime
A lead role in a smartly produced indie comic short. I play a goof of a bully of a boss who's got it all on the ball - or not - and is heading for a fall without a clue of what is coming. Chosen by the National Film Board of Canada for a theatrical screening at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival's Marche du Film. Also an Official Selection at the 55th International Short Film Festival at Oberhausen, Germany and winner of a Gold Kahuna at the 2009 Honolulu International Film Festival.
-
"Doing His Best James Dean" (Performance Video) Quicktime
A comic short for Time Warner's comedy outlet SuperDeluxe.com. I play a sadistic, insecure film producer (insert joke here) crossing swords with a time traveling James Dean. A strong supporting role.
-
"G.I. Jesus" (Performance Video) Quicktime
A mind-bending dramatic feature that won the Grand Jury Prize at CineVegas in 2006. My role is of a somewhat sinister psychiatric doctor consulting with the male lead on his wartime PTSD. A strong supporting role.
-
"The Cubicle" (Performance Video) Quicktime
Sit-com type office comedy based on whacky characters. Produced as a pilot. I play the strange and aloof boss who, among other things, looks every Wednesday to trade the eggsalad sandwich his wife invariably prepares for his lunch. A lead character in an ensemble.
-
"Hollywood Unscripted" (Performance Video) Quicktime
This is a one take, improvised scene of edgy comedy shot under the guise of an audition. Only later did we find out this was principal photography for the feature. All three minutes plus of the dialogue I improvised made the film's final cut. A strong supporting role.
-
"Guilty or Innocent?" #110 (Performance Video) Quicktime
A true crime recreation series where I play a by-the-book police detective. A solid cast and a strong hand at the helm directing. A supporting role.
-
"Beginning to End" (Performance Video) Quicktime
A horror short along the lines of "23" where the narrative of a man's life is overtaken by the events of a book he is reading. A chance to play a blank slate sort of character upon whom a terrible fate is imposed. The lead.
-
"The Double Coincidence of Wants" (Performance Video) Quicktime
A feature length dramedy set in a bookstore. I'm a frustrated writer hounded out of a teaching job for a sexual indiscretion with a student that wrecked his marriage. He's embittered and mostly just treading water. A lead character.
