Born in New York (Jamaica, Queens), David was raised on Long Island, graduating from Northport High School ('67). An All-star athlete (football), he co-starred with Patti LuPone in their high school production of "South Pacific." From there, he attended Columbia College, but dropped out to pursue acting at the famed, Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theater, where has was taught by both Sanford Meisner and William Esper. He graduated in 1971 and started working immediately. He has never once looked back.
