Afton began her long career in the arts at 13 years old by getting paid to play pretend on stages touring across the country. When she realized that being a writer meant she got to play ALL the parts, she attended USC film school, channeling her love of storytelling into filmmaking. Her work behind the camera has been recognized by the DGA Student Film Awards, KCET's Fine Cut Festival of Films on PBS & by her parents, who have said her work is, "Uncomfortably personal, but probably funny to someone."
