Born and raised in upstate NY, Michael started acting at the age of 17. Training at Buffalo State College and the U of Minnesota led to his professional debut as Treplev in Garland Wright's acclaimed production of The Seagull(archived at Lincoln Center). Shortly thereafter he moved out to LA where he has appeared in 8 feature films, numerous shorts, and a number of TV shows, including Grey's Anatomy as the arrogant Dr. Kent.
